S. Scott Nelson-Archer graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then entered into the insurance and financial services field with a local financial firm in The Woodlands, Texas. In 1995 he started M.D. Financial Services focusing on physician clients. Scott quickly learned that disability insurance for physicians was the centerpiece of their financial needs.
Over the course of more than two decades, Scott has dealt with virtually every major medical institution in the country and has served on advisory boards to insurance companies. He was requested to be a main platform speaker at dozens of seminars across the U.S. and has even spoken at conferences in other countries.
Yet, even above his commitment to further the industry, Scott’s favorite part of his work is still to sit down with new residents, fellows and newly-finished physicians to design their insurance plans. It is imperative to him that their protection is fair and that they receive a value-orientated process.
In regards to industry education, Scott has both his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations.
Scott is married to Colleen and they reside in Colorado. They have two children, Leah and Braeden. They enjoy the outdoors, spending a good deal of time in the Colorado Rockies, camping, hiking, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and skiing.
Scott and his team at M.D. Financial Services provide exclusive physician disability insurance contracts with “own occupation/own specialty” contractual definitions. The company and its affiliates have helped more than 10,000 doctors around the country obtain the physicians disability insurance plan that is suitable for their personal needs, the needs of their practices, and the needs of their families.
